In cases where our text overlay feature doesn't refresh quickly enough (less than 3 secs) or isn't flexible enough (font re-size, multiple screen placements), I was recommended 2 "best of breed" solutions by a existing VBrick customer:

These will take synchronized time (GPS or NTP) and overlay it as text on the video.  Some come take title information and move it around as well.  They're not cheap, but some broadcasters and SSM-type customers need this level of granularity.
