Automatic Camera Switching for Capturing Classrooms
« on: August 26, 2006, 10:18:52 PM »

Putting a fixed camera in the back of a classroom may not be enough because depeding on a camera operator may be impossible for every classroom -- and complex A/V control systems and tracking cameras are expensive.  Thankfully, most of what you need is already built in to a VBrick appliance.  Here is how to control cameras for live streaming and/or recording.

Another good use for this technique is a public presentation or town hall meeting with a mike set up for audience questions and comments. The mat could trigger camera 2 to record the questions from the audience.

Excellent!  I have a room where this can be used right away.  Are the pressure-sensitive mats supplied by VBrick or a third party?

Best,
Charles

VBrick is considering supplying the mats.  In the mean time, it's a 3rd party solution.  I'll post a link here ASAP where you can order mats at about $250 each (wired for VBrick use and ready to go).

Any update on the link?  I'd like to test these out.

Charles

It is available from VBrick now. Contact VBrick sales and ask for the VBrick 'Pressure Mat'.

We have them in inventory and can make immediate delivery. The part number is 8003-0022-0000 and it lists for $250.
