Can a VB presentation be edited after its been published?

Yes.

You need to obtain the original .wmv file, either locally or from your server.  Edit the video file as desired and re-upload it.  Keep in mind that the information that runs your presentation is embedded in the video file, so as you edit the file you will natually be editing the slide timing.  This is intentional and is a good thing.  However, you must be sure your editor suports the metadata that is included in the video.  Not all editors do this.

If you want to adjust the slide timing, add slides, remove slides, etc., then you might try the VBPresenter editor software available from www.videoalive.com.  This is a little more complex than some are used to, but it works very well for most cases.

Thanks, this is helpful; Will Windows Movie Maker suffice or is there another you might suggest?

Yes, Movie Maker will work, however you will not be able to change slide timings.

Ok, then I guess my question is: What specific feature does an Editing application have to have to address the new timing of an edited  VB presentation? I understand 'metadata' only in general terms so then the question needs to be asked to help understand the requirement 'supports metadata'. This part is important for selecting the application for our Faculty's use as VB Presenter will be used for their Web courses. Thanks for your help!

VBPresenter makes use of live metadata, a.k.a. "script commands" that are embedded in the live video.  Naturally, when you record the live video the metadata is preserved within the video file.  There are editors that do not preserve this information.  A true video production editor (e.g. Avid, Final Cut, etc.) assume you are creating a production video and mixing many video/audio/image sources so such information would not be included. In fact, these sort of editors convert your "input" file to a common internal format this is convenient to edit, then you output in the format you like.  This is quite different from native edit of a .wmv file.

The risk you run is that you lose all metadata, resulting in a nice video but no slides, polls, etc.

This is why I created the VBPresenter editor.  It allows you to trim your video and even adjust existing slide timings (or add new ones).  It does not attempt to be a true production editor.

OK, Great! This looks like it's right on appropriate for the utility editing on the presentations! Small item, though: Is there a small technical document to serve as a guide to using this app? I didn't find any accompanying the application. Good work, Thanks again!

I know.  Documentation is one of those things that tends to fall off the list when the program satisfies the first user who gets hands-on training.  I'll see if I can add a help link with at least some usage tips.
