But I suspect you don't really want the spec, you want to know operation details.  The VBSTAR can record from a MPEG-2 encoder in the appliance or record from a MPEG-2 stream on the network.  Once the file is on the disk, the VBSTAR can pump the video to the network on one or two IP addresses/ports.  Typically, the video is pumped via multicast but unicast to another VBrick or receiving device is also supported.  You can upload/download the files on the hard disk via conventional FTP. You could also see this post: http://vbrick.net/vbbb/index.php/topic,26.0.html
