Why have a "Set Top Box" when you can have a "Soft Top Box"?
Now-adays most conference rooms, classrooms, and similar locations sport a projector that is already wired to a PC, leaving little opportunity for a "Set Top Box" without complex wiring. Now you can use your PC and get multiformat (MPEG1, MPEG-2, MPEG-4, WMV) video playback and use a IR Remote too (get the PC-Remote from VBrick Systems). The Soft Top Box features multiple video windows (as many as your PC can handle), resizeable viewers with location memory, caption viewing and caption alert, recording, and a built-in customizable "hotlist" for Internet video, and much more. You can get the STB from www.videoalive.com listed under "Players"

But, there are many locations where that is not an option. Such as a display in a cafeteria or a hallway or a lobby/foyer. It's simple to velcro a small box to the back of the monitor on the wall.

Of course! That is why VBrick also sells a IP-Receiver (a.k.a. physical Set Top Box). However, I would note that a display in a cafeteria, hallway, lobby/foyer rarely requires user action (i.e. IR Remote). Typically, these applications are more like Digital Signage. /rich
